He was born in Gainesville, FL on October 27, 1948 to the late Sterling E. Wilhoit Jr. and Kate Oglesby Wilhoit. Beau was a member of Watkinsville First United Methodist Church.
In the 70’s he started his career as a residential contractor and in the early 80’s Beau was CNN’s “Mr. Fix It” and owned Athens Auto Air for over 30 years. He also traveled to Charleston in 1989 and South Florida 1992 after Hurricanes Hugo and Andrew to help the rebuild efforts. He lived his life by the Golden Rule of treating others, as you want to be treated, and passed that on to his children. He was full of love for others, never met a stranger, and was always willing to help those in need. In his final moments, he was still smiling and tapping his feet to Jimmy Buffett tunes with his three daughters and closest family friends.
Beau was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling E. Wilhoit, Jr. and Kate Oglesby Wilhoit as well as his sister, Kate “Bobbie” Wilhoit.
Beau is survived by his three beloved daughters, Angela (Howard) Crenshaw, Kate W. (Mitchell) Schneider and Lacy J. (Austin Stubbs) Wilhoit; his grandchildren, Lyndsey McElhennon, Layne Frances Schneider and Elijah Rain Schneider; his sister, Leewood W. Avary, and his brother, Corry R. Wilhoit.
