It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alfredo "Freddie" Velo, 71 of Brookhaven, Georgia on Friday, July 19, 2025. Born on May 2, 1954, in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico, Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ezequiel Velo and Antonia Amparan, his brother Javier Velo, and his son Alfredo Jose Velo.
Freddie was a cherished brother to Leobardo (Cathy) Velo of Suwanee, Georgia, and sister Maria (Theodoro) Trujillo of Juarez, Mexico.
Freddie was known for having a big heart. He loved his family and friends and he loved working with wood.
He is survived by four children, Alfredo Velo, Antonia "Tonya" (Jose) Bahena, and Alicia Velo; ten grandchildren, Christian Velo, Mario Jr. Sanchez, Yasmine Reyes, Xavier Sanchez, Isaiah Sanchez, Marcus Bahena, Lucas Bahena, Nicholas Bahena, Jayden Sanchez and Soraya Sanchez.
Freddie will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm at H.M. Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30319.
