Best known as Dodo, Amelia was born to her loving parents Lexie Carl (LC), Moss and Pearl Long Moss on July 9, 1942, in Elizabethton, TN.
Amelia spent her childhood in Elizabethton, TN. She went on to study at Carson Newman and eventually moved to Atlanta in 1963 to follow her dream of becoming a flight attendant for Piedmont Airlines. She eventually married and had three wonderful children and nine grandchildren whom she adored and were her heart.
After leaving Tennessee, she had the great fortune to travel and lived in Georgia, Florida, Texas, Arkansas and Connecticut but returned to the city she loved, Atlanta GA, in 1989 where she called home. Upon her return she served three decades working for Post Properties, an Atlanta based company. She was a connector and loved people. She was passionate about not just placing residents in a luxury apartment but being there for them personally and professionally. Her ability to connect with people has been passed on to her kids and grandkids.
Amelia was small in stature, but she was all heart. Amelia led her life with her serving and carrying heart for all of those she encountered.
Colossian 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the lord Christ you are serving.”
She is survived by three amazing children Tessa Mosteller, Whitney Rooker (Doug), and Tyler Travis. Dodo took incredible pride in her nine grandchildren Zackery Mays, Reagan Mays, Sawyer Mosteller, Grayson Rooker, Lexie Rooker, Logan Rooker, Eli Travis, Wesley Travis, and Owen Travis. Also survived by her siblings Roma Moss, Lexie Moss (Monique), Melody McMillan (Michael), and her beloved nieces, nephews and grandnieces, all who she took great pride in.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lexie Carl (LC), Moss and Pearl Long Moss. Martha Moss Epperson and Nephew Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Trane McCloud.
