

Mr. Arthur Noel Morin passed away September, 8th 2015 in Decatur, GA, surrounded by his family. Mr. Morin lived in Atlanta for over 50 years. Arthur was born April 1st, 1922 in Woonsocket, RI to Benjamin and Josephine (Ryan) Morin. He was one of nine children. He was raised in Maywood Illinois. He joined the Army Air Corp in April of 1941. During World War II he was a B-24 tail gunner. Arthur completed 35 missions in the European Theater. He was discharged in September of 1945. Upon his return to the States, Arthur enrolled in Northern Illinois State Teachers College. It was there that he met Marilyn, who became his beautiful bride. Arthur and Marilyn had 11 children, Mary Noel Jordan, Dee Haygood, Mickie McCauley (Russell), Mike Morin (Mary), Chris Williamson, Kari Morin, Sue Magouirk (Sonny), Tim Morin, Denita Morin, Amy Smith (Rick), and Andi Heifetz (David). He was also the proud Grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren who all adored their “Papa Art”. Arthur and Marilyn left Illinois in 1963 and moved their young family to Atlanta. In Atlanta he worked for Western Electric and AT&T until his retirement in 1987. He loved his wife and children. Arthur had a lifetime passion for golf. He learned to play as a teenager and continued playing until he was 85. He was also active in the local Knights of Columbus; he and Marilyn had many friends there. He is also survived by his brothers Paul and George Morin and sisters Audrey Gearhart and Bebe Hayes and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Marilyn Hill Morin in 1982, and his second wife Carol Kahlert Morin in 2006; his parents, Benjamin and Josephine Morin; brothers- Ben Morin SJ; Robert Morin; sisters- SR. Madonna Morin BVM, and Joan Mosby. The Family would like to thank the Staff of Tri-mart and Regency House Decatur, GA for the wonderful care of our Father. Funeral arrangements are as follows, visitation Saturday, September 12th, at 1pm at H.M. Patterson’s Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd, Brookhaven, Georgia, 30319. The funeral will be at 2pm, followed by internment at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, Georgia, 30328. In lieu of flowers a donation may be sent to St. Francis Table at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Atlanta, GA or the charity of your choice.
