

Barbara Robin Goodman, 93, of Atlanta, passed away on January 14, 2025. Barbara was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to Joseph Sam Robin and Esther Yoken Robin on December 4, 1931. Her family moved to Winston Salem, NC when she was a child. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, a field in which she enjoyed working for many years. She married Howard Goodman on June 12, 1955, in Winston Salem. They began their married life in Atlanta. Together they raised two daughters, Lynn and Anne, enjoyed tennis, traveling, and volunteering at the Fox Theater and at the Carter Center. Barbara was able to redefine her life upon Howard’s passing in 1996, and continued to live every day to its fullest playing tennis and bridge, hiking, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and staying involved with various volunteer activities. Barbara will always be remembered for her adventurous nature and her zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Sam Robin and Esther Yoken Robin and her husband Howard Goodman. She is survived by her daughters Lynn King (Kim) and Anne Mitchell (John), her sister Joan Kaufman, five grandchildren Matthew Blake (Bridget), Michael Blake (Jamie), Robby Blake (Eleanor), Robin Mitchell and Emily Mitchell, as well as ten great grandchildren Caroline, Hannah, Natalie Anne, Julie, Emma, Sara, Campbell, Molly, Carter, and Brody.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3rd, at 1:00, at The Temple, 1589 Peachtree Street, Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those interested should donate to their favorite charity in memory of Barbara.
