Mr. Reineck like millions of others was part of what has been accurately described as "America's Greatest Generation" He graduated president and salutarian of his class at Gibsonburg High and then found a job during the depression setting type for the town's newspaper "The Derrick" for $1.25/week. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 as America entered WWII. He was a lieutenant in the 106th Replacement Co. and served in the European Theatre of Operations. Known for his dry wit and sense of humor there were very few business meetings, family dinners or outings that didn't contain large amounts of laughter. In his last years, he clearly stated that "I've lived a happy and full life - doing things, seeing, and accomplishing things I never thought possible. I can ask no more of life and when the time comes I'm ready." He was a kind, giving, soft spoken, and humorous man who will be missed deeply by all that had the joy of knowing him.
