Billy J. Adams Sr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015 with his loving and devoted wife, Glenda S. Adams at his side. Billy and Glenda were married for 57 years. Billy was born on April 21, 1937 in Atlanta and grew up in Buckhead. His first love was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Lanier, playing golf, and watching Nascar racing, the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldog football. After he served his country in the U.S. Army, Billy worked as an automobile repairman and was co-owner of Avondale Body Shop for over 35 years. Survivors include his son, Billy J. Adams Jr. (wife Donna) daughters Valerie Hayes (husband Sean) and Laura Painter (husband Thom). 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 24 at 2 o’clock at Oglethorpe Hill. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 at H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Brookhaven, Georgia, 30319.
