Carson’s courageous, two-year battle with brain cancer came to an end on July 29th 2014. In the loving arms of his parents and grandparents, he left this world for a better place, a place without physical bonds.
Carson exemplified for all who knew him the definition of strength, courage, and faith. Through two years of treatments and despite the physical impacts of the cancer, his spirit was never diminished.
His journey through this difficult time was made bearable with the loving support of so many friends and family. Carson cherished the time he spent with his friends most of all, and throughout his battle, their support for him was unwavering.
His sister Caroline was his most ardent supporter and fiercest advocate. She was always concerned for him and did all that she could to care for him. She and her friends spent their time and energy to be with him, support him, and love him.
Carson was a boy that loved so many things. From lacrosse and football, to science and robots, to food and gardening, to hunting and fishing, to dinosaurs and fossils, Carson found joy in them all and brought joy to us all.
Never were we more proud of him than when he spoke at his 5th grade graduation ceremony at E. Rivers Elementary School describing how much he appreciated all of the support his friends and teachers had provided him.
Carson’s life was far too short for us, but he will forever be in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing that one day we will all be together again.
Carson is survived by his loving parents, Kevin and Shannon Cox and his sister Caroline Cox of Atlanta, paternal Grandmother Patricia Cox of San Angelo Texas, Aunt Elicia Rankin and husband John Rankin of San Angelo Texas, maternal grandparents Frank and Susan Fulmer of Hot Springs Arkansas, maternal Great Grandmother Ruby Spires of Hot Springs Arkansas, Uncle LTC Scott Fulmer and wife Ame Fulmer of Fort Lewis Washington, and numerous cousins and wonderful friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal Grandfather Larry E. Cox
