

CHARLES THOMAS HEATH, JR. MD (December 13, 1958 - July 27, 2016) Survivors include his husband and life partner of thirty years, Mark J. Corsale, MD; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles T. Heath, Sr., brothers, Scott T. Heath (Barbie), Craig Heath (Beverly), nieces, Caroline Heath and Chaney Heath; step-daughters, Bree Sheridan of Aberdeen, NC, Emily Corsale of Toronto, Canada and grandson, Maxwell Sheridan, of Aberdeen, NC. Predeceasing him were his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Redmond Heath, Sr. and maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Rollins.
Dr. Heath (well known as Chuck) graduated as the President of the Student Body from Aiken High School, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from USCA, and completed his medical training at USC Medical School, Columbia, South Carolina. He interned in Pediatrics, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Columbia, SC and completed his Residency at William S. Hall Psychiatry Institute in Columbia, SC. Dr. Heath was Board Certified in Adult, Child & Adolescent and Addiction Psychiatry. He was the Assistant Chief of Behavioral Health for Kaiser Permanente of Georgia and was previously the Medical Director of Three Rivers Behavioral Health in Columbia, SC. Dr. Heath has been listed among Atlanta’s Top Doctors for 2015 and 2016 and in Best Doctors in America since 2007 thru 2016. He was the recipient of the Nancy C. A. Rose MD Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education in 2000 by the American Psychiatric Association.
Chuck often credited his decision to enter the medical field to the influence of his childhood family doctor. Chuck was known for his dedication and enthusiasm for his profession. In Chuck’s words, “I practice my profession with passion.” Chuck had a love for fitness, travel and reaching out to others. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Mark United Methodist Church, 781 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30308 or a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held at Saint Mark United Methodist Church on August 20 at 3:00 pm.
