Cherian was a dear friend of over 40 years. we met when he first joined as a faculty member at GSU in 1982 when i was in the PhD program at GSU.  we became good friends meeting up in urban life cafeteria for a bite off and on. 
I left contact with him for several years after i moved away upon completion of my PhD.  But when we connected again, it was good to meet up over a glass of wine and catch up about politics of academia, travel, india, books we were reading etc. 
Dear dear friend, will miss you a lot. Cannot believe that you are physically gone forever. Rest in Peace my friend. Pauline my sincere condolences to you and his extended family.  Hope to meet up to share memories from time to time.

I was privileged to know this very special man in my early days of residency at Ponce.  We served together on the inaugural RAB and I got to observe Cherian working hard for our community and accomplishing so much in only a year.  He will be sorely missed by all of us here in our community and by family and friends. RIP my friend.

Our heartfelt condolences to Pauline, his dear wife of 50 years, and pray that she finds relief from her anguish over time through the support of family, friends and her church community. We extend our sympathies to his family members in different states.

It is hard to believe that Cherian has physically left us. The image of the man in his well pressed shirt, confident gait,  direct gaze, a smile on his lips and holding a glass of his favorite French wine is hard to forget.  We will miss Cherian, as he was always a caring and thoughtful friend to us.

Fond memories of your time in Hamilton.

I've known Cherian for about 30 years at GSU/RCB. Cheian stood out as being a champion of the "right" (as in morally correct) and took courages stands on many issues having to do with tenure, retirement payments and many other things. He was always pleasant and well-reasoned. While he had fewer successes then he would have liked, he succeeded where others did not. He wasn't a citizen of Decision Sciences or RCB. He was a citizen of Georgia State writ large. RIP, Cherian. GSU can but hope your commitment to faculty rights and justice will be replaced by someone of equal caliber.

I had the privilege of meeting Cherian on several occasions.  He was kind, personable and very intelligent!  I know his lovely wife, Pauline and she is such a dear person.  The family, especially Pauline, has my deepest sympathy!  
May his memory be eternal!

My brother- was a very kind and sincere son, sibling, husband, brother in law, uncle, teacher, guide, friend, philanthropist and the list goes on and on…
You touched so many lives with affection and compassion. 
Losing you left a space in my life that can never truly be filled. But even though you’re gone from my sight, your love, your laughter, and the lessons you taught me, will still be with me every single day. I miss you more than words can say but I will cherish all the memories I had with you.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Rest in peace, my dear brother Cheriachaya!
