

Dolores Anne (Dee) Scoggins, 72, of Chamblee, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 after battling Leukemia. Born November 8, 1941 in New York, she was the daughter of the late George Hoffmann and Hilda “Jake” Hoffmann. Dee graduated from Chamblee High School in 1959. For over 25 years, starting in 1955, she lovingly spent countless hours involved in football and baseball at Murphy Candler Park. Dee leaves behind a legacy of giving to others. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Daniel McKee (Mac) Scoggins; three sons, Danny Scoggins and wife Pam, Tony Scoggins and wife Cece, Scotty Scoggins and wife Shelley; one daughter, Shannon (Scoggins) Matlock and husband Kirk; twelve grandchildren, Erinn, Daniel, Lindsey, TJ, Dustin, Jessica, Joey, Jeremy, Chelsea, Brandon, Donnie, and McKenzie and five great-grandchildren, Tucker, Jacob, Evan, Kelsey, and Riley. The family will receive friends and family Friday January 17, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Patterson Funeral Home located at 4550 Peachtree Road, Atlanta. At 2:00 a Memorial service will be held at Murphy Candler Park – Colt Field, located at 1551 West Nancy Creek Drive NE, Brookhaven. Pastor Re Baretela will be officiating the memorial service.
