Donald Glen Turner, who blessed others with quiet and gracious generosity, was lost by his family and friends on Sunday, August 30, after a prolonged battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Handsome and quick-witted, meticulous and caring, Glen lived a distinguished life of attentiveness to others, including many friends, clients, and those who worked devotedly with him at Atlanta Service Warehouse for over fifty years – the natural lifelong accumulation for the Beta Club member voted Most-Popular, Best-Personality, and Student Body President by his Robert E. Lee High School class in Thomaston, Georgia. Following undergraduate studies at Georgia State University, Glen obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law. Glen was a devoted and loving son and was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Benjamin and Eva Turner. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty eight years, Genie Barksdale Turner and her extended family, his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Jan Turner, his daughters and their husbands, Leslie and Ray Bures, Tinsley and Rob Correa, Zachy and John Farrell, his son David Garey Turner, and his grandchildren, Austin, Brendan, Roan, Conor, and Griffin. Glen was active in numerous professional organizations and enjoyed being with friends at Cherokee Town & Country Club, Lago Mar Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Atlanta Athletic Club where he was a member for more than half a century. In addition to owning Atlanta Service Warehouse, Glen was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. His many endeavors included restaurants, real estate development, and investments. The family requests donations be made in Glen’s honor to Cure Childhood Cancer, pulmonary fibrosis research, or the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5 at 4 o’clock at Patterson’s Oglethorpe Hill. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at H.M. Patterson & Son, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Brookhaven, Georgia, 30319.
