Dorothy Douglas

Dorothy Lietch (Dottie) Douglas died March 12 unexpectedly at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She was born at Crawford Long Hospital on February 7, 1928 and was the daughter of Floyd Porter Lietch and Ruth Brooks Lietch. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, James Tillman Douglas Sr. She is survived by her children, D'Ann Douglas Blalock and husband, David Emory Blalock, and James Tillman Douglas, Jr., and her grandchildren, Doug and Elisabeth Utterback, and Anabel and Hampton Douglas. Dottie grew up in Morningside and attended North Atlanta Presbyterian School (NAPS) graduating in 1945. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, where she served on the wedding committee and generously supported her children's activities there, and Cherokee Town and Country Club, where she was well-known and loved. She was in numerous bridge clubs and lunch groups along with new and lifelong friends whom she loved dearly. Her kindness and caring for others knew no bounds, and she will be remembered for her hospitality and grace. The family will receive friends Monday evening, March 14 at Patterson's Spring Hill Chapel 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3003 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta. Reception will follow the service in Williams Hall. In lieu of flowers, Dottie would like you to donate to the charity closest to your heart.
