Fannie Mae and a good friend, Hazel, came to my home for Christal's baby shower, and we enjoyed both ladies immensly.  They were the oldest present but were full of life.  Fannie Mae's long life could have been from "serving others" as a volunteer for years and having such an outgoing personality.   I read once if you laugh a lot and have a good attitude your cells work like crazy to heal...and heal she did...many times.   The world could benefit from more people like Fannie Mae.  I'll always remember going to the Box Car in Tyrone w/Virginia, Christal and Fannie Mae.  Fannie Mae wished she could eat there every day.  I wish we had all lived closer. Like my sister Beth, I have fond memories of the few visits with Fannie Mae.  Since we lived across the country from eachother we didn't get to see her much.  My Granddaddy talked about his sister often and I've always felt closer to her as a result.  She truly blessed people with her personality and gave so much to others.  May she have eternal peace.

Oh, Fannie Mae, I already miss you.  We had some very good times together. You sure got me on the watermelon....I was so sure I grew that thing! I'll never forget how you liked your coffee. hehe. I'll miss you everyday. You would have loved Kate. You'd think she knew you well. Pam and Jean and David were there and Kate told about how you coaxed Tom into joining the church. It was so good to see them and they have missed you so much. Oh and the Lady who worked at the hospital with you, the one that graduated from College Park high school, I don't know why I can't remember her name.  I told David I would try to come to the Sun Shine Cub some. I also met Bob from Piedmont...he told me how you got them on the wheels(Spinners) for your car. Fannie Mae was my Nanny ! She was one of the wisest, smartest, most wonderful women I have ever met! She always had us laughing, she was an AMAZING cook, i have so many good emories with her, but not enough ! Nanny I miss you and may yu rest in peace with the angels and i will see you again one day ! I love you !

I first met Fannie Mae when I was about 13. I would go to the lake house with Virginia and Rod, and Fannie Mae made me laugh the entire time; never met anyone quite like her. She made a mean peanut butter and banana sandwich, and introduced me to artificial cantaloupe, by sprinkling salt and pepper on a banana( I'm gonna make me one in her honor). Fannie was a lovely lady and full of life--even though she had a lot of things happen early in life she weathered the storms gracefully.  She always had a beautiful smile.  She was a police officer at the school crossing many years ago where my children went to the grammar school there in Sandy Springs.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  I will miss her especially when I visit Atlanta and my home church there at Grace United Methodist Church.  She sat in the East side of the sanctuary not far from the front row and she would wave to me.  Prayers are with the entire family. I will miss my aunt that I kept in touch with over the years and the aunt that I had the most fun with. I will really miss Fannie Mae's humor.

My Grandfather, George Mullins, was Fannie Mae's brother and I know he loved his sister deeply. I have good memories of a few visits with Fannie Mae and I wish there would have been more. I have even more memories of my family telling stories of some good times they shared with Fannie Mae and how she had a gift of making others laugh. There are no words to express how much Fannie Mae will truly be missed by everyone.

Sorry for your great loss.  She seemed to have had a wonderful, full life that touched many.  Although it is a very sad time for your family, the Bible can bring us comfort like nothing else. As we enjoyed reading about her life and how she served others, I was reminded of the full life of Isaac. The Bible simply says he died old and satisfied with days (Genesis 35:28). This may bring you some peace from "the God of all comfort." (2 Cor. 1:3)
