

Frances Perdue Thomas died peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was the daughter of J. Howard Perdue and Anne McCalla Perdue of Birmingham, AL. She attended Ramsey High School in Birmingham and graduated from Northwestern University receiving a degree in speech therapy. She married Cornelius Bullard Thomas Sr. (Neil) who predeceased her in death after 65 years of a wonderful love. In addition to her parents and husband she is predeceased by her devoted sister, Mary Olivia Perdue; brother, Howard Perdue and son- in -law Bill Ghegan. Frances is survived by her son Cornelius Bullard Thomas, Jr (Neil) and wife Michele Marlow Thomas; daughter, Anne Ghegan Gower and her husband William Gower; precious grandchildren, Bonnie Anne Ghegan, Abbey Ghegan McFarland and Drayton Michael Thomas. Frances had a great appreciation for beauty and art and spent many wonderful hours in her gardens. She was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, PEO, DAR, Alabama Club, First Families of South Carolina, Knights of the Garter and Springlake Garden Club. Services will be at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church at 2:00pm on Monday, January 23, 2017. The family will receive guests following the service. Frances will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Park by her late husband. Arrangements are under the direction of H.M. Patterson & Son Spring Hill Chapel.
