

Dr. George W. Hall was born April 9, 1925 in Chattanooga, TN, son of John William and Edith Lenis Hall. He passed away peacefully May 29th, at home, with his daughter. He lost his father when he was 9, during the height of the Great Depression, and got his first job delivering newspapers at that time.
Dr. Hall was a soldier serving in Reims, France, in the transportation corps for 2 years during WW2. He developed a life long love of France, visiting all of the significant WW2 battlefields and returning to Paris frequently. He graduated from the University of Alabama and was a passionate fan of Crimson Tide football. He then attended the University of Tennessee in Memphis for medical school. He lived on the top floor at Grady Memorial Hospital for 2 years during his radiology residency through Emory University. He practiced radiology at Cobb General Hospital (now Wellstar) for 28 years. He always had dogs, and was faithfully seen walking around Peachtree Memorial Park with his standard poodle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hoyte Guyton Curtis Hall, his sister Marjorie Hall, and his brother Lewis Hall. He is survived by his daughter Laura Hall Allen, son-in-law, Jeff Allen, and 3 loving grandchildren, Nate, Charlie and Hope. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday May 31, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church . Internment will follow at Greenlawn cemetery in Roswell, GA. Online condolences may be made at hmpattersonspringhill.com
