He spent nearly 44 years in Atlanta, working almost 30 of those with Georgia Disability Adjudication Services. The highlight of his career was managing the fraud investigation unit.
Outside of work, Gordon loved to travel, especially cruising, visiting five continents. He enjoyed time with family dogs and cherished fly fishing with the many friends he met on the water.
He was an active volunteer, most devoted to Historic Oakland Cemetery, where he guided tours, acted, supported special events, and mentored new guides. He deeply valued his Oakland friends who became like family.
Gordon is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Ruth; his crazy dog, Riley; family in Shreveport and Jamaica Plain, MA; and many dear friends and neighbors.
He requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
