Harold E. Williams Sr.

Harold E. Williams Sr., age 85, of Atlanta, died Sunday, July 21, 2013. A native of Atlanta, Mr. Williams raised by his Papa, Jeff Williams, and attended E. P. Howell Elementary School, North Fulton High School, and graduated from Greenleaf College in Atlanta. He was a Merchant Marine during WWII, a Deputy Sheriff for Fulton County in the 1960’s, and was Chairman of the Democratic Committee in Atlanta. Mr. Williams was a Broker in Real Estate and started Harold E. Williams & Co. in the 1960’s, along with being an Appraiser for the city of Atlanta. He was also a lifetime member of Defoor Ave. Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Hal Williams, a daughter, Gina Williams Ayers, grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Whitney Ayers, and Russell Tyler Ayers. A Funeral for Mr. Williams will be Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 11 O’clock at Defoor Ave. Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a missionary group of your choice in memory of Mr. Williams.
