
Helen Andrews Revson was born an only child on October 31, 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee. She died in Atlanta on May 11, 2016. She graduated from Central High School in Memphis and attended Western Women’s College in Oxford, Ohio. She met Alfred F. Revson, Jr. in June, 1951 and was married on December 1, 1951. After 49 years of marriage, Alfred preceded her in death in January, 2001.
In her early years, Helen was very active doing social work, volunteering at the Children’s Clinic of Atlanta. She also was active with The Temple Sisterhood. She loved playing canasta with her friends, as well as, tennis at the Standard Club. She was a member of the One and Only, a group for only children. She loved traveling as she and Alfred were fortunate to travel North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. She was a member of the National Council of Jewish Women.
Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Carl Harris of West Des Moines, Iowa; her son and daughter-in-law, Alfred Frank Revson, III (Frank) and Joan Revson of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by four grandsons, Andrew (Katie) Harris of Conway, AR; Scott (Mary) Harris of Murphy, TX; William Revson and Jay Revson, both of Greenville, SC. In addition, she is survived by four great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Carolyn Dotson, Martha Cooper and Regina Todd for their continuous love and support during Helen’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Helen’s devotion to her family, as well as, her compassion, wisdom and trademark smile will be sorely missed. The burial is a private graveside ceremony. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4 until 6 o’clock at H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill, 1020 Spring Street, NW, Atlanta, Georgia, 30309.
