

Jim Mascho passed away peacefully at home recently. He was born on October 10, 1942 to Maureen Green Mascho and James Anson Mascho, Jr.
He lived in Dallas, Texas until he was sixteen years of age when his family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. Jim graduated from Myers Park High School where he was an all-star running back on the football team. He ran the one-hundred yard dash in 9.9 seconds. He was a quick lightning fast, shifty halfback.
He then played for the Atlanta Falcons for one year and moved to Houston, Texas to begin his real estate development career.
Jim graduated from Clemson College with a degree in Architecture where was also an all-star running back.
He was tenacious, persevering, loyal and courageous. He was a strikingly handsome man with a charismatic; winning smile and personality. He was a positive thinker who was a humanitarian. He never met a stranger or a person he didn’t like, and he was an excellent salesman.
He had a visionary mind that enabled him to create challenging real estate developments with the firms he worked with.
He had passions for his favorite diversions which were attending sporting events, playing golf and hunting. He was a voracious reader at one point in his life of sports novels and Southern Military history.
Jim was a man’s man who did many unselfish things for others when they were down. He had an incomparable ability to lift them up. He always had an encouraging word.
He was a fine Christian man.
He is survived by his mother Maureen the love of his life, his best friend and soul mate Mollye Pearson Mascho, his stepfather T. Brooks Pearson, Jr. and a host of kin.
His beloved sister Connie predeceased him as did his father James Mascho, Jr.
The family will receive friends and guests at 9:00 AM at H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill on Wednesday, May 24. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM and a reception thereafter.
