Chase was the free-est of free spirits, an original in every sense. He lived unapologetically, on his own terms, with a sense of humor so quick and outrageous it could drop you to your knees in laughter. He was a phenomenal athlete, loved watching movies, listening to music, and working out.
Above all else, Chase adored his mother, Linda Kaye Curth, who passed just weeks after him. Their bond was unbreakable built on laughter, stubborn independence, and a shared refusal to live life any way but their way. Wherever Chase went, Linda was not far behind.
Chase also deeply loved and admired his father, Jon Christopher Curth. He respected his father’s strength, character, and guidance, and carried that influence with him throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) and the University of Georgia, Chase never missed an opportunity to cheer on the DAWGS, often loudly, passionately, and with commentary no referee asked for. He began a promising career as a financial analyst in New York City, where his charisma set him apart, before ultimately returning home to Atlanta.
In death, Chase gave the ultimate gift. Just days before Christmas, he saved three lives through organ donation, an act of generosity and selflessness.
Chase is survived by his father, Jon Christopher Curth (Jane); sister, Kimberly Curth Copus (Adam), and his niece and nephew, Harton Lee Copus and Dempsey Christopher Copus. He is also survived by stepbrothers, Jeff (Shonda), Allen (Jamie) and Blake Hoffmeyer, nephew Oliver Hoffmeyer, his cousins LouAnn Meisel (Jeff), Macy Meisel, and Landon Meisel; his Aunt Suzanne Dheron; and cousins Scot Dheron, Wesley Kaupinen (Christy), Lange Kaupinen, Pamela Kaupinen, Amanda Griffin, David Griffin (Maggie). As well as Aunt Noel and Uncle Allan Kaupinen and his Uncle Benjy Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Miriam “Mimi” Harton Curth, and Aunt “Pammy” Griffin as well as his beloved “Granny,” Betty Driscoll, and his cherished “Uncle Joe,” Joe Dheron, a reunion we can only imagine includes laughter, storytelling, and absolutely no one behaving properly.
Chase’s life cannot be measured by years alone, but by the laughter he left echoing in every room he ever entered. He will be remembered for his humor, and his refusal to be anything other than exactly who he was.
And if there’s a celebration happening somewhere beyond this world, make no mistake, Chase has already arrived, already made everyone laugh, and already found the best seat in the house.
Forever loved. Forever missed.
