Jesse R Turner

He was the beloved husband of Sybil, devoted father to Jennifer and Christopher, and proud “PaPa” to Joshua. He was the son of Jesse R. Turner, Jr. and Ida Kate Turner.

Jesse graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, School of Architecture, in 1964. He worked for many years in private industry before joining the U.S. General Services Administration, where he served faithfully for the last ten years of his career.

Jesse and Sybil shared a loving marriage for 62 wonderful years. From the beginning, their life together was built on their shared faith in Jesus Christ. Through studying God’s Word, they learned and lived by the precepts of a godly marriage—Love never fails.

Laughter was a constant in their home. As Proverbs 17:22 reminds us, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.”

Jesse often liked to say, “I married Sybil for her money.”

And Sybil would smile and reply, “I was born to serve,” having lovingly served Jesse approximately 22,630 cups of coffee over their 62 years together.

Jesse is now resting joyfully with Jesus.

A Celebration of Life to honor the memory of Jesse will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Skyland Church, 1850 Skyland Terrace NE, Brookhaven, Georgia 30319
