John Edward McGowan, 56, of Decatur died February 9, 2015 while recovering from a previous hospital stay. He was preceded in death by his parents, John McGowan, Sr. and Eva May McGowan and by his brother, Michael McGowan. He is survived by his brother, Robert McGowan of Villa Rica, Georgia. John attended Georgia State where he was a member of Kappa Sigma and he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. A visitation will be Wednesday Feb. 11 from 6 until 8 o’clock at Spring Hill with a Rosary being said at 7. Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 12 at 11 o’clock at Westview.
