Johnny Warner Childers, 78, died Monday, December 2, 2013. He fought a courageous and private battle with cancer. He was born April 16, 1935 in Opelika, AL. Although self taught, Johnny rose to join the rank of world class floral designer. He was a lifetime member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, (AIFD). Johnny retired from the Pete Garcia Company with over 30 years of loyal service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan Jackson and Vester Clark Childers; brothers, Alan, Hugh and James. He is survived by his extended family, his friends at the Pete Garcia Company and the Garcia Family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7th at 10 o’clock at Oglethorpe Hill Chapel. Interment Arlington Memorial Park. The visitation will be held Friday evening, December 6th from 5 until 8 at H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30319.
