AVIS DE DÉCÈS

June Marianne Stoll

11 juin 1935 – 14 février 2025
Avis de décès de June Marianne Stoll
AUX SOINS DE

H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel

June Marianne Stoll, 89, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on February 14, 2025, in Dunwoody, Georgia. Her children were not surprised that she chose Valentine’s Day, a fitting day to be reunited with her beloved husband Jim, from whom she had been parted for 16 years.

June was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 11, 1935, to Axel and Anne (Ring) Edwards. She spoke often of her happy childhood playing at the neighborhood park, going to Michigan to visit cousins, and attending holiday gatherings with her extended Swedish family. She attended and graduated from Chicago schools and North Park College before receiving a Bachelor’s in Education from Northwestern University. She worked for several years as a first-grade teacher at Jane Stenson School in Skokie, Illinois, yet her favorite work memories were from the semester after high school when she worked for Rand McNally. On June 21, 1958, she married James Edwin Stoll in Skokie, Illinois, and two years later they started a family. After stints in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Chicago, they moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they raised their 3 children. June was involved in several volunteer organizations, including Meals on Wheels and adult literacy programs. She was also active in Westminster Presbyterian church in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Paola) Stoll, Bob (Linda) Stoll, and Nancy (Mike) Kabat; grandchildren James (Meagan) Stoll, Andrew (Miranda) Stoll, Megan Stoll, Linnea Stoll, Andrea Stoll, Matt Kabat, and Rachel Kabat; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Allan (Nancy) Edwards, nephew Kurt (Kathy) Edwards, and niece Kristen (Joe) Moran and their families.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in June’s memory can be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation (myasthenia.org).

Finally, the family of June wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Capstone Hospice for their compassionate care of our mother during her last few weeks.
