Kristy was a beacon of light to everyone she touched. She was a loving stepmother to her four stepchildren who loved her so much, as well as being a very devoted daughter to her parents as they advanced in age. She was a truly beautiful woman, inside and out, who brought a ray of sunshine into every room she entered.
Kristy made friends with everyone she encountered, and to her, there was no such thing as a stranger. She took a selfless interest in the lives of everyone around her and could easily illicit a laugh from even the most cynical or forlorn of people.
While Kristy loved fashion, fitness, cooking, and aesthetics, and was known everywhere for her practically world-renowned Pixie haircut, her true passions were her family, friends, laughter, travel, and of course her infamous chocolate lab, Woogy.
Over the last decade, Kristy forged a very loving bond with her four stepchildren whom she loved as if they were her own, and they cherished every bit of it as much as she did. She played an integral role in assisting her brother with caring for both of their parents. Between the two vastly different family dynamics, she juggled her various roles with an elegance, grace, and empathy that were the heartbeat of everyone on both sides of her family. At the same time, she truly loved Woogy with every ounce of her being, and spent a great portion of each day spoiling him with rubs, treats, car rides, and trips to the dog park. It always made her laugh to send photos and videos of his ridiculous antics to her friends and family. Kristy also had an extremely loyal group of girlfriends whom she loved fiercely, and who were absolutely family to her as well in their own right.
While Kristy was a stunningly beautiful woman with a smile that stopped traffic, those things were never the essential traits that made Kristy the Kristy whom we all loved so dearly. Her family and friends will forever miss Kristy’s quirky, goofy, and always infectious sense of humor. You never knew exactly what to expect whenever you were fortunate enough to be in her presence, but genuine heartfelt love and laughter that included everyone around her would always be at the very center of every moment with her.
Kristy’s sudden passing has been a devastating shock to family and friends. The profound and unexpected loss of her life will forever be felt by those who knew and loved her most.
Kristy is survived by her adoring husband Jim Bethea IV, her four stepchildren Katie Bethea, Jim Bethea, Tom Bethea, and Mary Margaret Bethea, as well as her parents Kyle and Margarett Kinton, her brother Jeff Kinton, and her sister Lacey Kinton.
May Kristy now rest in eternal peace, knowing that her love and light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of everyone she touched. She will be forever remembered, cherished, and loved by so many.
Kristy will soon be laid to rest in a private service with a Celebration of Life to be announced in the coming weeks. Invitations for this reception will be sent out as our plans for the reception are finalized.
Our entire family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of such deep love, heartfelt care, and support from everyone who loved Kristy, and that love for her is giving us all the peace and strength we so desperately need to get through this difficult time.
