Lorraine Inman Lambert of Atlanta passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Born June 26, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Fuller Eugene Inman and Cordelia White Inman of Morristown, TN. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond P. Lambert, in 2003. She is survived by her children, Ray Lambert, Jr. and his wife Mary Lynn Ellis Lambert, and Deanne Lambert Ellison and her husband Perry Ellison. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Perryman Ellison, Ansley Lambert, Sadie Lambert and Rip Lambert, great grandson, Ryker Lambert and niece, Cathy Waldrep. Lorraine was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. During her life she volunteered many hours of her time to her children’s school activities as well as to the Atlanta Speech School. She was particularly active at Trinity Presbyterian Church and spent many hours participating in her church circle and volunteering her services for Pastoral Aid. She was a strong and giving person who always thought about others. She was always quick to respond to her friends and those in need with a meal or a warm showing of support to help them through difficult times. Lorraine was blessed with a very analytical and organized approach to life and this allowed her to faithfully manage all of the accounting and business aspects of the family farm business and other family matters for many years. She was quite accomplished at this and truly loved the challenge that this provided her. Even after her sight began to fail as a result of macular degeneration, her love of the work and her strength of spirit left her undaunted and allowed her to find ways to make adjustments to continue handling the job as efficiently as she always had instead of just giving it up for others to do. The family would like to gratefully thank Lorraine’s caregivers, Carolyn Bowen, Julia Woodward, Monica Walker and Elaine Carter whose compassionate care meant so much to Lorraine and the family. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Monday, April 25, 2016 at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319. A memorial service will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Dobbs Chapel at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3003 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta GA a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30309 or to Trinity Presbyterian Church.
