

Louis lived a full and adventurous life. He enjoyed skydiving and had a passion for collecting coins and stamps. He proudly served in the United States Air Force in Alaska and worked as a career mail carrier in Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy and Ruth Bottoms and Mark and Mae Griffin; his parents, John and Maidee Bottoms; his sister, Barbara Coffey Carr; and his niece, Stacy Coffey.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife Janie Bottoms; uncle Frank M. Bottoms; his sisters, Sherilyn Bottoms and Donna Allen Coates; his nephews, Chadd Allen, Jeremy Coffey, and Corey Coffey; his stepchildren, Jessica Gibson, Tracy Gibson, and Catherine Dermody; his step grandson, Bryant Gibson; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Louis will be remembered for his service to his country, his dedication to his work, and his love for his family, friends, and hobbies.
A visitation will be held on April 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30319.
A graveside service will take place on April 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the U.S. Parachute Association, 5401 Southpoint Centre Blvd., Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
