Born in Auburn, New York to Stanley and Mary Drabicki, Marilyn grew up in the Finger Lakes region before moving south with her two sons to build a new life in sunny Orlando, Florida. She eventually followed her kids back a little north to eventually settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where she remained close to her children and spent the rest of her days surrounded by family.
Marilyn was a woman of deep love, sharp wit, and not so quiet strength. She pursued college early on, but ultimately dedicated herself to providing for her family in the best way she could. No matter what life brought, Marilyn showed up—consistent, present, and full of love.
She was a devoted mother to Luther and Will Lotz, and a proud grandmother to Lily and Ollie. She was also a beloved sister to Robert, Joanne, Sharon, Tom, and Jerry, and someone who brought warmth and care into every space she entered.
Marilyn cherished life’s simple joys—watching Criminal Minds, solving Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune puzzles, and listening to her forever favorite, Elvis. These little comforts (and coffee coffee coffee) gave shape to her days and reflected the rhythm of a life lived with heart.
Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved them more than anything and stood by them always. Marilyn battled cancer with courage and grace, and though it ultimately took her, her love and spirit remain a lasting gift to all who knew her.
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road Ne, Atlanta, GA 30319, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
All are welcome to join the family in celebrating her legacy and saying goodbye.
