
Mrs. Nancy Johnson Allen of Eatonton, Georgia died Saturday, August 30, 2011. She was the widow of Charles M. Allen of Atlanta, Georgia. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson. She attended North Fulton High School, The University of Georgia and Duke University. She and Mr. Allen were married in 1942. Mr. Allen died in 1995. Mrs. Allen remained in their home at Huntcliff Trace for six more years, and then moved to Eatonton, Georgia where she owned a vacation house on 75 acres on Lake Oconee. She built a new home there, and has enjoyed the peace and quiet beauty away from the Atlanta traffic. Surviving are her three children, Mrs. Janet Crittenden and her husband Gary of Dunsmuir, California; Mrs. Susan Fox and her husband John of Eatonton, Georgia; and Mrs. Peggy Allen and her husband Ira Barnes of Eatonton, Georgia; her four grandchildren Renee Callaghan, Allen Fox, Carly Hunter, and Joe Fox; and three great grandchildren, Jonathan Fox, Noah Fox, and Clara Callaghan. There will be a private graveside service at Westview Cemetery. Reverend Joseph Greene of The Epicscopal Church Of The Redeemer in Greensboro, Georgia will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in memory of Nancy Allen to Redeemer Episcopal Academy, 680 Old Phoenix Rd., Eatonton, Georgia 31024. Arrangements under the direction of H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill in Atlanta, GA.
