Roger Hughes Jennings Jr.

Roger H. Jennings, Jr., 79 years old, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 after a long illness. Roger was born on December 13, 1935 in Atlanta. His parents were Roger H. and Ruth Jennings of Atlanta. He was a graduate of Marist High School and the University of Miami. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Jennings, his sister Camille and her husband, Chuck Johnson. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren, Beth and Thom Diachenko and their children Alek and Drew; Blair Jennings and his children Luke and Julia; Scott and Donna Jennings and their son Ethan, Lisa and Michael Kennedy and their children Grace, Lexi and Jack; Katie Yarbrough and her children Madison, Peyton and Sophia; William Jennings; and his nephews Shelton Johnson and Christopher and Ann Johnson. Roger was a chef and longtime restauranteur here in Atlanta. His seafood restaurants Fishermen’s Wharf and Donovan’s Wharf were well loved in the 60’s and 70’s. Roger loved life and everything in it, he will be missed by family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by H.M. Patterson and Son Spring Hill. The viewing will be Friday, January 16 from 5 until 7 o'clock H. M. Patterson & Son - Spring Hill. The funeral service will be at 2 o'clock on Saturday, January 17 at Mt. Paran Church of God, 2055 Mt. Paran Road, NW, Atlanta, 30327. Interment will be in Ft. Gaines, Georgia on Sunday January 18.
