Roger Zobel died Monday, May 4th, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Pat Zobel, his son Craig Zobel, and many close friends. Born in Chemung, NY, Roger started his professional life as a DJ for a radio station, before transitioning to a career directing local news broadcasts at WICZ in Binghamton, NY, where he met Pat. They married and moved to Atlanta where they started Television Production Service (TPS), a specialty production lighting company. TPS has grown with them over 35 years, serving many television stations, theatrical spaces, and notably a large number of churches. Roger loved his job, and was very deeply connected to his co-workers and clients. On his days off, Roger could often be found at Chamblee’s Peachtree Dekalb Airport, as he had a passion for aviation. He also loved the North Georgia Mountains and spent much time there with Pat. The funeral will be held at 2pm Saturday, May 9th, at H. M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill Chapel , 4550 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30319. A casual reception will follow at 3pm at Southbound Restaurant in Chamblee at 5394 Peachtree Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
