Shirley Anne Chambers was born in Altoona, PA, to Harold Dilbert London and Pauline (née Killian) London on August 18, 1934. She is survived by Alok Agrawal of Atlanta, GA, her constant companion and adopted son of twenty-five years.
Rev. Mother Shirley Chambers was a beloved spiritual leader, educator, and author whose life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to the pursuit and sharing of spiritual wisdom. Shirley’s journey touched countless lives, illuminating paths of self-discovery, healing, and enlightenment for all who crossed her path.
As the founder and director of the Karin Kabalah Center, established in 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia, Shirley created a sanctuary for those seeking to explore the profound teachings of Kabalistic wisdom and esoteric spirituality. Her pioneering spirit and deep understanding of ancient traditions blended seamlessly with modern perspectives, fostering a community united by a shared quest for truth and transformation.
Shirley’s legacy extended beyond her teachings at the Karin Kabalah Center. In 1994, she founded the St. Thomas Christian Church, bridging the mystical teachings of Kabalistic Judaism and Vedic Hinduism with Christianity, and nurturing a spiritual lineage inspired by the sojourn of Jesus in India. Her vision brought ancient truths into the contemporary world, providing profound lessons that remain as relevant today as ever.
As a prolific author, Shirley shared her insights through transformative works such as Kabalah: A Process of Awakening, Kabalistic Healing, and her acclaimed series on the mystical interpretations of the Gospels, The Gospel of Matthew: Its Mystical Interpretation and Messages and The Gospel of Mark: Its Mystical Interpretation and Messages. Her groundbreaking applications of the Tree of Life as a lens for spiritual exploration offered readers a unique perspective on consciousness and personal growth.
For over four decades, Shirley’s wisdom and compassion inspired countless students, congregants, and seekers across the globe. Her presence was a beacon of light, her teachings a bridge to the divine, and her life a legacy of love, learning, and spiritual elevation.
Rev. Mother Shirley Chambers’ indomitable spirit and profound impact will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she has moved on to the next chapter of existence, her teachings and the love she shared will forever guide those who seek the deeper truths of life. May her soul continue to be embraced by the divine light she so faithfully served.
A celebration of Shirley’s extraordinary life will be held on February 2, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Unity Atlanta Church, 3597 Parkway Ln., Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. A reception will follow the service in Unity Atlanta Church’s Fellowship Room. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Karin Kabalah Center or St. Thomas Christian Church to ensure her mission of enlightenment continues to thrive.
