To keep the language alive, he attended a Chinese-Lao school in Laos and finished his studies in Hawaii. His drive to succeed lead him to travel, seeking new and exciting opportunities, and starting his own businesses. From restaurateur to seafood wholesale distributor, he did what he had to, to provide for his family.
He thrived on staying active and was constantly immersed in a new pursuit. When he wasn’t steering the business, you'd find him analyzing the stock market, whipping up culinary creations, breaking a sweat at the gym, or dealing cards at poker night with his friends.
Tinakon is survived by his wife Hong Do; his children and their families, along with his seven brothers.
