Van Paul Kell, 91, of Atlanta died Tuesday, June 7, at Hospice Atlanta. He is survived by his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Jane Ray Kell of Atlanta, sister-in-law Lois Kell of Ellijay, and three generations of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in Atlanta at 10 am on Saturday, June 11, at H.M. Patterson & Son Ogle- thorpe Hill Chapel, the Rev. Martha Sterne officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 9:15 am in the chapel. After the service, the family will proceed to Ellijay, where a lunch and visitation will be held at Logan Funeral Home starting at 1 pm, to be followed by a graveside service with military honors at New Hope Baptist Church at 3 pm. Paul valued education and would have been honored to help young people get the post-secondary education they deserve. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Gilmer Education Fund, 497 Bobcat Trail, Ellijay, Ga., 30540.
