

Serdar Somer was a vibrant and loving individual whose presence touched the lives of everyone around him. Born to Samime Ergunduz Somer and Mehmet Somer, Serdar was preceded in death by his cherished parents and his brother-in-law, Eniste Sonmezer.
Throughout his life, Serdar was known for his energy, passion, and zest for life. He enjoyed jogging and walking, participating in many Peachtree Road Races, and was an enthusiastic supporter of basketball and soccer. He found peace and tranquility on the beaches of Destin,Florida, where the ocean waves brought him comfort. Serdar also had a deep love for reading, Turkish tea, and performing traditional Turkish folk dances. A particularly proud moment in his life was performing as a gypsy in Carmen at the Fox Theatre.
Above all, Serdar’s greatest joy came from his family. He adored his grandsons, Felix and Cooper, and cherished the time spent with them. He also enjoyed watching his favorite shows, including Seinfeld and The Big Lebowski, finding humor and comfort in these iconic pieces of entertainment.
Serdar’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian Somer; his son, Michael Somer (Melissa); his daughter, Leyla Jones (Wylie); his grandsons, Felix and Cooper Jones; his brother, Selçuk Somer (Beyhan); his nephew, Doğa Somer; his sister, Serpil Sonmezer; his niece, Firdevs Gazioğlu (Haluk), and his nephews Hakan and Gokhan.
A gathering to celebrate Serdar’s life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30319. A Celebration of Life will follow from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a reception from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Serdar’s legacy of love, warmth, and laughter will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
