Victoria M. Morrison Victoria M. Morrison died August 5, 2012. A memorial service will be held in Greeneville, Tennessee, September 3, 2012. Born September 28, 1922 she was raised in Greeneville, Tennessee. After graduating from Greenville High School, Victoria attended East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee. She later moved to the Atlanta area, where she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Morrison. There are many people who count themselves lucky to have known Victoria. Among them are the family members who loved her so deeply. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her sweet Southern ways, sharp wit and fierce devotion to loved ones endeared her to all who knew her. She was often “adopted” by her grandchildren’s friends who called her “Granny,” too. Her favorite way to spend a day was with her family, whether that was a day trip, a special vacation, or a meal at home. She saw the beauty in making the most of each day and took pleasure in tiny treasures like a beautiful flower in her garden or a perfect sunset at the beach. She had, in her own words, “A heck of a life.” We, her family, feel blessed to have shared it with her. Victoria worked at Buckhead Glass Company as the office manager for 40 years. She then retired and true to her “get-up-and go” personality returned to work part-time. She was a faithful Christian. She was a member of Brookhaven Methodist Church for over 30 years, a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church for 15 years, and a member of Northbrook United Methodist Church since 1997. In her later years her interest in scrapbooking and documenting family history led her to become a member of the D.A.R. in early 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Morrison, and her parents, Paul and Bonnie Miller. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie M. Lann and her husband Robert Lann; granddaughter, Julie Youmans and her husband Kyle Youmans; grandson John Adamson; and great-grandchildren, Avery Adams and Bailey Youmans. Donations can be made to: Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Dr., Atlanta, GA 30319.
