Vivian Jean Barrington

Jean was a founding member of Embry Hills United Methodist Church and was described by friends as a “gracious Southern lady”. She graduated from Duke University in 1952 with a degree in Medical Technology. In later years she was a tireless caregiver to her in-laws Paul and Estelle Barrington.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Barrington, mother Myrtle Utsey of Harleyville, SC and brother-in-law Joe Dufford. She is survived by her sister Joan Dufford and aunt Rubye Bell both of Summerville, SC; five children Steve (Tracy) Barrington of Apopka, FL, Laurie Gayle (Lenny) Flohr of Naples, FL, Kerin Haney of Cumming, GA, Elizabeth (Greg) Fineberg of Longmont, CO and Peggy (Mark) Litherland of Marietta, GA, nine grandchildren and two nieces.

Family will be receiving visitors Sunday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial Services will be held in the chapel 11AM on Monday, April 11th at Patterson Oglethorpe Funeral home and laid to rest at Floral Hills Cemetery.
