Bernard Gibson

Bernard Gibson 86 of Steele passed away March 27, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Saturday March 31, 2018 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Bro. Terry Tibbs, Bro. Jonathon Whisenant, and Bro. Charles Abercrombie officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be at Steele Cemetery.

Bernard was a Korean War Veteran and he loved to attend Steele Baptist Church when he was able. Rain or shine you could always find him in the yard tinkering. He was a kind and generous man and he loved to help people in need. St Jude’s Charity was dear to his heart; he never wanted to see anyone suffer. No one will ever fill his shoes. We will miss you PawPaw!

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Faye Gibson; parents, William and Hattie Gibson; brother, Sidney (Faye) Gibson; sister, Margarite Parrish; sister in law, Carolyn Gibson.

He is survived by his son, Randy (Sharon) Gibson; grandsons, Joseph Gibson and Joshua (Elise) Gibson; great granddaughter, Ellie Gibson; brothers, Gordon Gibson, Anthony (Sandy) Gibson, Jerry (Brenda) Gibson, and Paul Gibson; sisters, Bobbie Gibson, Ann Battles, Ruby (Richard) Reynolds, and Judy (Robert) Dobbs; special niece, Kim (Jim) Putman; special friends, Roy and Betty Barron; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family members whom he loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Jim Putman, Phillip Barron, Steve Barron, and Richard Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Barron, Charles Abercrombie, and Rex Green.
