

A Memorial service is being held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 12:30pm. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:30pm. Bro. David Little to officiate.
Chuck was a loving husband, father and son. He was a 1969 graduate of Glencoe High School where he was President of his senior class, played football and won the Bobby Miles Award for football. He received and Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Alabama Technical College in 1979. He was employed by Engineering Sales. Chuck was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon before his health declined. One of the things that brought him the most joy was hiking in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. He and Melinda spent most vacations hiking there and just enjoying being together while sharing the wonder of God’s creation. They also loved camping, especially after will was born. Chuck was a big Bluegrass music fan and volunteered every year at the Foggy Hollow Bluegrass Festival in Webster’s Chapel.
Preceded in death by his parents, A.B. Mackey and Clara Beam Mackey; his brothers, Rick Mackey and Skipper Mackey; sister, Denise Youngblood; and In-laws, Caldwell and Ivo Buckelew, and Melvin Beck.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melinda Buckelew Mackey; son, William Cade Mackey; daughter-in-law, Ashley Bennett Mackey; precious grandson, Luke Caldwell Mackey; sisters, Cindy Brown and Rita Bussey; his brother, Dale Mackey (Patti); sister-in-law, Jan Mackey; and In-laws, Susan Beck, Pat and Elaine Dobiesz, Dale and Kathy Clayton, Brad and Amy Buckelew; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
