A native of St. Clair County, Chris was a brother, father and friend to all who adored him. He was a fantastic iron welder at Sunbelt Fabricator of Steele, AL. for quite some years. Never was he a lazy man. Chris had many of pals. Always up for a great challenge and never backing down. From fishing and mud riding, to hanging out with his buds, wearing cut off blue jeans and bandanas to all night campfires, he was up for it all. A true all American Auburn fan, he was fabulous at horse shoes with Ole Jer’da that was his game. But most of all he spoke what was on his mind, like it or not. But the most precious thing of all he was OURS.
He is survived by his sons, Dalton Fitts (Brianna) and Trevor Lacoste, his father, Sidney Fitts, his daughter, Savanna Fitts, his grandchildren, Eli and Londyn, his brothers, Sidney D. Fitts, Jr., Jason S. Fitts, all of Ashville, his sisters, Tammy Bourg “Mark” of Piedmont and Chrystal Fitts Everett of Ashville, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Lemons Fitts and his sister, Gina Fitts.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his best guy friends: Tim Stone, Mike Kell, Kiley Phillips, Shane Dugger, the late Shane Lacoste and his hero, the late Jerry Lemons (Jer’Da).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice, Ester Harley, Christa Robertson, Angie Tidwell and James Perry for the love and care.
Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.morganfuneralchapel.com for the Fitts family.
