

Visitation for Clyde "Paw Paw" Parker will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Morgan Funeral Chapel. A private family graveside service with military honors will be held at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.Clyde "Paw Paw" Parker, 88, leaves behind a legacy not easily duplicated. Words are hard to find to describe him, a man who lived life passionately, with warmth and seemingly endless laughter. His love for music was evident as the buzz of classic vinyl filled every room, and was second only to his endearment, pride and dedication for his wife, children and prized "grandbabies." He will be missed whole-heartedly.He graduated from Southside High School (Smokeneck) and served aboard the U.S.S. Winslow and later retired from Gulf States Steel Plant.He is preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Mary Etta Parker; sisters, Elizabeth Mayo, Nell Jo Dunn; and son, Steven Parker.He is survived by: wife, Dorothea Parker; sons, Bruce (Midge) Parker, Shane (Kim) Parker and Johnny Parker; daughters, Libby Ellis and Tamara (Rick) McDill; grandchildren, Adam (Shannon) Courington, Patrick (Leianna) Gladden, Jennifer (Jarad) Umphrey, Jada (Paul) Bailey, Jonathan (Laura) Parker, Haden (Libby) Walker, Logan McDill, Garet (Dakota) and Riley Parker; great-grandchildren, Sam, Cole, Sadie, Fisher, Trebble, Clara, Bryce, Hudson, Emma and Ella.Pallbearers will be family and friends.Because of his great love for his grandbabies, the family requests in lieu of flowers, to make donations to St. Judes Children Research Hospital.
