

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 11:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service in the chapel.
Those preceding him in death include his mother, Estelle Louise and father, Robert Dee.
Danny is survived by;
His wife of thirty-six years, Kathy.
Sons, Jason and Matthew. Daughter, Chanda.
Grandchildren- Hannah Dodd, Bree Vasser, Davin Vasser, Korey Vasser, Kailey Vasser, Sara Dodd, Zoey Franklin, Zayden Franklin, and Kolby Dodd.
Great-grandchild, Emrie Lowery.
Danny also leaves behind his brothers, Larry (Myra), Leland (Mary), Robbie (Delisa), and Bill (Vicki). Sisters, Ann, Cathy, Pat.
Step-mother, Jenny.
Brother-in-law, Pat (Cathy) Rakestraw.
Sister-in-law, Connie (Ronnie) Turner.
Sister-in-law, Carol (Johnny) Cook.
Brother-in-law, Johnny (Cynthia) Rakestraw.
Danny will be remembered for his love for family and service to his community. Danny was employed by Goodyear for forty-one years, and served as a Goodyear EMT in addition to his regular duties. Danny also served as a firefighter/EMT with Reece City Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Danny was an avid motorcyclist and loved spending time with his family and friends, taking long motorcycle trips. Danny was also a martial artist- reaching the rank of Red Belt in American Combat Martial Arts. Danny will be missed by all who knew him and remembered for his kind heart, gentle nature, loyalty, heart to serve, and willingness to give of himself unconditionally. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reece City Volunteer Fire Department. Green plants are welcome.
