

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Ensor and John McKinley Brown; her brothers, John and Odis Brown; and her son, Ronnie McClure.
She is survived by her son, Mack (Kim) Martin; daughter-in-law, Rita McClure; beloved grandsons, Allan (Heather) McClure and Andrew Martin; cherished great-granddaughter, Carson McClure; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Evelyn was born in Gadsden, Alabama, and was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a 1949 graduate of Etowah High School and a member of Siberton Baptist Church.
She spent most of her life working as a bookkeeper for several local businesses. She especially enjoyed working alongside her sons Mack at Baptist Hospital for over 10 years, and Ronnie for over 20 years at McClure, Sewell and Associates, CPAs, until her retirement in 2021.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (“GiGi”), mother-in-law, and aunt. She loved nothing more than having her family together for holidays and family gatherings at her home, where for many years she prepared wonderful meals.
Visitation will be held for family and friends Thursday, March 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel. A family graveside service will follow at Red Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Harvey Beck officiating.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, Home Instead, and several private caregivers, especially Lisa and Karen, for their compassionate care, and friends Janie, Carolyn, Lori, and David for their many years of kindness and support.
