

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Fordy O. “Boots” and Maggie Belle Reed.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Reed Ragland (Shane) and Amy Reed Brown and former wife of forty-one years and the mother of his daughters, Jean Reed. He left four beautiful grandchildren; Skyler Hampton, Eliott Brown, Blaine Ragland and Bella Ragland. Eddie also leaves sister, Cathy Reed Crumrine (Jeff) and brother, Scott Reed along with several nieces and nephews.
Eddie was born in Attalla, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Etowah High School in 1964 and from the University of Alabama in 1969. Eddie was not only an alumnus, but was a die-hard fan and supporter of the Crimson Tide. Eddie retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after thirty-three years of service and was a proud member of the Air National Guard for seventeen years.
Eddie suffered with Parkinson’s Disease which eventually rendered him unable to care for himself. During this time, Jean Reed opened her heart and her home to him and devoted herself to his care until the very end.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday January 28, 2017 at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Family and close friends will serve as pallbearers.
