Janice McConnell Nelson

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Attalla First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM the day of the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Nelson; parents, E.E. "Butch" and Lanie McConnell; grandson, Benjamin Clough; and nephew, Bubba McConnell.

Janice is survived by her son, Joel (Regina) Boggs; daughters, Jenny (Toby) Ryals, and Leigh Helms; grandchildren, Patrick (Whitney) Boggs, Zack (DeeAnna) Boggs, Taylor Clough, and Matthew Helms; great-grandchildren, Jace, Ryleigh, McKinley, and Wyatt Boggs; brothers, Eddie (Carol) and Steve (Cindy) McConnell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many more cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Attalla First United Methodist Church in her memory.

The family would like to thank Riverview Regional Medical Center 3rd Floor step-down units employees and the staff of Peace in the Valley for the exceptional compassion and care given to Mother over the last few months.
