

Jerry Allen Morgan, 76 went to be with the Lord, October 20, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel Monday October 24, 2016 at 2 P.M. Rev. Albert Morgan and Bart Watts will officiate.
Jerry was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. He graduated from Etowah High School and attended Gadsden State Community College. Jerry was employed at Republic Steel from 1958 until 2000. He loved to buy and sell cars and spent many hours at Bob’s Used Cars in Attalla, AL. He was a member of Mt. Lookout Congregational Methodist Church.
Pawpaw was a lover and agitator of children everywhere. He rarely missed an opportunity to watch and support his grandchildren in their activities. His happiest times were spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Martha Mayo Morgan; his daughter, Maria Lynn Morgan, his brother, Bob Morgan, and his parents, Damon and Wilma Morgan.
Jerry is survived by his loving and dedicated wife and caregiver, Norma Morgan. His children: Susan and Bart Watts, Donna and Jeffry Richey, Amy and Patrick Thornton, Brian Engle and Starla Armstrong, Kevin and Lena Engle. Grandchildren: Sam and Kami Watts, Jill and Reed Chambers, JoBeth Watts, Kyle Allen and Amy Richey, Lea Morgan Richey, Joseph and Whitney Richey; Taylor Thornton and Grace Thornton; Abigail, Annabella, Kevin Patrick and Eleanor Lynn Engle. Great-granddaughters: Hattie Belle Chambers, Allyn Rae Richey and Olivia Richey. Sisters: Dorothy Stephens, Vivian Morgan, Mary Jo Winkles. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 12 until 2 on Monday October 24, 2016.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Roscoe Garner, H.D. Drain, Bobby T. Nichols and Jack Nichols.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to New Life for Women, 102 Centurion Lane, Gadsden, AL 35904.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Highland Volunteer Fire Department, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice, Scott and Tammy Gregory, Tommy Morgan, Michael Stephens, and Perry Glenn.
The family appreciates all of the prayers and support from family and friends. Our Pawpaw going to Heaven will leave a hole in our lives and hearts, but we are comforted by the fact that he is in the presence of the Lord and is experiencing a long awaited reunion with his loved ones who have gone before. It is well with our souls.
