Funeral service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Monday January 16, 2017 at 2:00 P.M.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 12 noon to 2 P.M. prior to the service in the chapel .

Rev. Roger Beshears and Rev. Chase Dowdy will officiate.

Committal service and Interment following at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Wood was a devoted husband of fifty-nine years, a loving father and grandfather. He was an active member of Stowers Hill Baptist Church and had retired from Gulf States Steel after forty-three years of service. Those preceding him in death include; his parents, Luther & Alma Bynum Wood; parents-in-law, E.R. & Myrtle Ballard; Brother, Billy (Eunice) Wood; Sisters, Louise (Julius) Flowers, Christine Wood, & Frances (Ed) Mullinax; and Brother-in-law, Gary Ballard.

He leaves behind;

Loving wife, Shirley B. Wood of Attalla

Daughter, Kristi (David) Dunn of Attalla

Son, Shane (Gina) Wood of Sardis

Grandchildren, Hannah Dunn, Madison Wood, Colby Dunn and Eli Dunn

Brother in law, Steve Ballard

Special Cousin, Betty Jo Osborn

Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Colby Dunn, Eli Dunn, Jonathan Ballard, Kenny Flowers, T.R. Roden, Eddie Walker, David Bruce, and Pat Ayers.
