Johnny Toney

John Toney was better known to all as “Toney”. He lived most of his life in Etowah Co., having grown up in the Walnut Grove Community. He was a long-time employee of Crown Motors. He then lived several years in Georgia working for Carter’s. Upon retirement, he and Deritha returned to Alabama to live closer to family.

He is preceded in death by his wife Deritha Toney.

He is survived by his children, Mark (Laura) Toney, Leigh Anne (David) Kelley. His grandchildren, Jeremy Toney, Shay Toney and Paige Kelley. His great grandchildren, Damian Vonbartheld, Shailey Miller, Brantley, Ellie and Millie Toney. And several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Richard, Bobby, Donny and Jerry Smith who helped us look after dad as if he were their dad.

Special thanks to Hannah Abel from Kindred at Home for taking such good care of Mr. Toney. Also all his neighbors at St. Christopher Apartments.

There will be no visitation, only a graveside service Saturday, December 18th at 2pm at Greenwood Cemetery, 3825 Little Wills Valley Rd, Attalla 35954.
