Joseph “Joey” Kleinklaus, a beloved husband, father, uncle, friend and cherished member of the Rainbow City and Gallant, Alabama community, passed away tragically on July 13, 2025, at the age of 69, following a tractor accident on his farm.
Born on September 19, 1955, Joey lived a life marked by compassion, integrity, and service to others. A dedicated pharmacist for over four decades, he was a trusted presence at MMC Homecare, where his warm smile, gentle demeanor, and genuine care for his patients and colleagues made him a fixture in the lives of so many.
Joeys' devotion to his work was matched only by his love for his family, friends, and the community he called home. Whether helping neighbors with a medical question, finding a way to make someone smile and laugh or just offering a kind word in passing. Joeys' presence was one of comfort, strength and reliability.
Outside of work, Joey found happiness in the simple pleasures of life-traveling with his wife, spending time with his extended family, golfing with his nephew, bowling with his granddaughter or great nephew, tending to his farm, and taking pride in all that came with those things. His tragic and unexpected passing is a profound loss to all who knew him.
Joey is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Kleinklaus; mother, Topsy Kleinklaus; nephew, Tim Davis; special uncle, J.W. Berry; and life-long friend Thomas Bramblett.
Joey is survived by his wife Dana Cameron Kleinklaus; children, Jill Parrish and Alex Parrish; grandchildren, Cameron Garman, Lacey Garman, Braxton Parrish, and Dalton and Ella; sister, Terry Davis; special nephew, Brent Davis; great nephew, Bryce Davis; great nieces, Emma Davis and Zoe Davis; Cousins, Jeff Berry and Craig Berry; special life-long friends, Mark McIntyre, Robert White; Special Work Partner, Tracy Pettitt; and a wide circle of friends, colleagues, and countless acquaintances who will remember his outgoing personality, generosity, humility, and steady kindness to all that came into his life.
A celebration of life will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday July 25th at 11:00am, where family and friends can gather to honor the legacy of a man who gave so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gallant Volunteer Fire Department.
Words cannot express how deeply Joey will be missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the countless number of lives he touched throughout his well lived life.
Joey will always be remembered by all who knew him and loved him. He was one of the most generous men, never wanting any glory or attention for his many contributions.
